Recipe Memory Book

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Faith again on a second project, a Recipe Memory Book. I had originally considered simply providing my siblings with photocopies of our late mother’s favourite recipes but wanted a more permanent way of preserving these. Faith incorporated these into a small book along with photos of our mother cooking, serving and enjoying food with family members and friends at various stages of her life.

Faith was very open to my ideas regarding captions, content and sequencing and came up with many suggestions which vastly improved the finished result. Faith cleaned up the appearance of the recipe cards but ‘not too much’. She also presented the recipe names in a uniform way and added illustrations.

My siblings were very moved, impressed with the design & layout and also remarked on the quality of the book itself.

I would recommend this approach to anyone wanting to preserve family recipes as it’s wonderful seeing the authenticity of the original recipe cards & clippings with handwritten notes. And you may be surprised to learn just how many photos of food related occasions that you can gather to contribute to such a book, to accompany the recipes.

It makes a great keepsake to share, honouring the life and culinary efforts of a loved one, past or present”​

Photo Scanning

I recently had the pleasure of working with Faith from Adventures-with-Photos. She is very personable, trustworthy, helpful, and professional!  She did a wonderful job scanning all the loose photos along with the photos in an old fragile photo album. She was able to restore and clean up many of the old photos making them look so much clearer and detailed. She also scanned a few negatives and some historical newspaper articles.

She saved the information on USB sticks which I distributed to several grateful family members. They appreciated seeing that many of the photos were labelled with the names of departed family members.

Faith did all this great work for what I consider to be a very reasonable fee! 
I would definitely work with Faith again! In fact, I would love to get a memory book done featuring some of my mother’s recipes and Faith has already suggested some great ideas in terms of incorporating photos to accompany the recipes! 
 
I am looking forward to a future project with Faith!

Photo Scanning

For a while now, I've had scanning my photos on my to-do list, but somehow it never quite made it to the top of the list. Certainly not because it wasn't important to me but rather because it felt like an overwhelming and daunting task that I just kept putting off.

​That's why I was thrilled when I discovered there was someone in Toronto who provided this service. Her name is Faith and her company is Adventures-with-Photos. Not only did she scan my photos but she brought back the vibrancy to many of them that had faded over the years. It was a thrill to see the colours in the pictures as I remembered from years ago.

I've been hesitant to mail my photos somewhere and to someone I didn't know, but with Adventures-with-Photos I didn't have to worry because Faith came and met with me and picked up my photos and dropped them off when she was finished.
After meeting with her I knew she would treat my photos like they were her own.

Now I have peace of mind knowing my photos are properly backed-up and I have the option of sharing them with family and friends or creating photos books. Overall, it's been a wonderful experience.

Slideshows

I recently had the pleasure of working with Faith from Adventures-with-Photos to do a slideshow for my daughter and new son-in law's wedding!

I had given over 300 photos that she cleaned up and made into a beautiful presentation we played on the large media screen at our venue. She worked with care and thoughtfulness and added nice touches to it, making memories that will last a lifetime!  The job was done on time and any adjustments I wanted (which meant changing out photos and adding different ones, a few times!) were made without question. That was appreciated given we had many different combinations of families to include.

I was thinking maybe I could do something on my own, but I thought about the amount of photos and time I had and would I be able to put in the time that is needed to make it.  WELL...I can't tell you with enough emphasis that it was absolutely the right choice to give this special project to the professionals!  Thanks again Faith, I will be using your services again!

Photo books

Like any parent, I became photo-trigger happy ever since the birth of my son. I especially relished staging monthly photo shoots of him to capture the countless ways he changes and grows from month to month. Faith skillfully turned these "monthiversary" photos into a beautiful photo book I can keep beside me on my night stand and flip through whenever I want.

The end result of Faith's creation was beyond what I expected. She went above and beyond just creating an album - she told a story through the manner in which she organized the pictures and the design layouts she selected.

There is no denying that having these pictures on my iPhone is easy and convenient ... but the beautiful hard copy album I now have is something I will keep and treasure forever.​
